My name is Mariangel Escobar and I am from Colombia. Maragay or leopard wiedii. In other Latin American countries it is known as maracayá, yaguatirica, caucel, or tiger cat as well. He has very captivating eyes. When I was walking down the hall and I saw it in the display case it was like, I don’t know, the first thing that caught my attention about it were his eyes, they seemed very pretty and very hypnotic, that’s the word with which I would describe the eyes of the Maragay. He reminds me of many colors, like the sun. But in general, his eyes and his fur caught my attention and his resemblance to a house cat. I love cats so you could say that’s why I chose it. I think I would love to be a wild cat because it means that I could go here and there in trees or disturb other animals and I think that is interesting about cats in general, that they are super annoying. In other words, a cat can sleep a lot, but they can also bother a lot. I think the only thing that would worry me about being a Maragay, being a wild cat, would be if they hunt me because they usually hunt them a lot to keep them domestic, which is cruel and that cannot be done because it is a wild cat, not domestic. That would be my only concern if it were a Maragay, but for the rest it would be super cool. Because, I mean, living my life in the jungle, wow, yeah.
