Join Teen Saturdays Workshop at the Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology this fall! High school teens, ages 13–18, are invited to explore ancient games in four workshops. Experience the excitement of Ullamaliztli, the Maya ball game played with only hips, and test your aim with the Aztec atlatl, a spear-throwing tool that changed history. Play legendary board games from the Ancient Near East and discover how strategy and luck brought people together millennia ago. Try your hand at Stickball, the fast-paced Native American sport that combines tradition, art, and teamwork. 

Each workshop combines hands-on activities, historical insights, and artifact exploration, allowing you to learn the stories and skills behind these fascinating games. Make new friends, challenge yourself, and discover how the past continues to inspire us today! Join us this fall for a journey of play, learning, and connection. Teens receive an HMSC membership (worth $100) after attending three or more Teen Saturdays Workshops per semester. Or, receive a free admission pass (worth $15) for a return visit if you attend one of the four sessions.

  • $10 per session includes free admission to the museum immediately following the workshop

¡Únete a los Talleres de Sábados de Jóvenes  en el Museo Peabody de Arqueología y Etnología este otoño! Se invita a adolescentes de secundaria, de 13 a 18 años, a explorar juegos antiguos en cuatro talleres. Vive la emoción del Ullamaliztli, el juego de pelota maya que se juega solo con la cadera, y pon a prueba tu puntería con el atlatl azteca, una herramienta para arrojar lanzas que cambió la historia. Juega legendarios juegos de mesa del antiguo Oriente Próximo y descubre cómo la estrategia y la suerte unieron a las personas hace milenios. Prueba tus habilidades en el Stickball, el dinámico deporte nativo estadounidense que combina tradición, arte y trabajo en equipo.

Cada taller combina actividades prácticas, perspectivas históricas y exploración de artefactos, para que aprendas las historias y habilidades detrás de estos juegos fascinantes. Haz nuevos amigos, desafíate y descubre cómo el pasado sigue inspirándonos hoy. Los adolescentes recibirán una membresía de HMSC (valorada en $100) después de asistir a tres o más talleres de Sábados de Jóvenes por semestre. O bien, recibirán un pase de entrada gratuita (valorado en $15) para una siguiente visita si asisten a una de las cuatro sesiones.
