In Colombia, Mayerly Avendano—Giant Armadillo

My name is Mayerly Avendano and I am 19 years old. I chose the Giant Armadillo because it is the one that most connects with my family, mainly with my dad because my dad used to hunt it and he still does it to eat it. He gave us the blood of the armadillo and said that women had to drink from the male’s blood, and that men had to drink from the female’s. He also made keychains out of the armadillo’s claws and tail. A curious fact is that they are in extinction and in Colombia where my father hunts them, they do not have laws or regulations where they are prohibited from hunting them. They also have 80 to 100 teeth unlike other mammals.
