This immersive two-hour workshop introduces participants to the rich history and artistry of Philippine weaving. Facilitated by Romae Chanice “Nice” Marquez, founder of Hibla Philippines, participants will learn the basics of setting up a frame loom, understanding warp and weft threads, and crafting their own woven creations. The workshop will also showcase traditional textiles, fostering appreciation for Filipino craftsmanship while supporting the sustainability of local weaving and sewing communities.
This experience is for beginners ages 12 and up. Participants ages 12–17 must be accompanied by an adult.
$30 members / $35 nonmembers per person. Includes museum admission and materials. Participants are encouraged to come early or stay late to explore the museum.
