Travel back in time and explore some of the world’s oldest board games from the ancient Near East! In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn the origins of games like senet, mancala, the Royal Game of Ur, and al-qirkat. Play, win, and learn how strategy and luck have connected people for thousands of years. Whether you love history, puzzles, or friendly competition, this workshop is for you. Come ready to play, learn, and experience ancient fun that still inspires today!
Teen Saturdays Workshops are offered bilingually in Spanish and English and are designed to build community and enrich the museum experience for multicultural and Spanish-speaking teens.
The $10 fee includes free admission to all HMSC museums immediately following the workshop.
Teens receive a Harvard Museums of Science & Culture (HMSC) membership (worth $100) after attending three or more Teen Saturdays Workshops per semester. Or, receive a free admission pass (worth $15) for a return visit if you attend one of the four sessions.

Viaja al pasado y descubre algunos de los juegos de mesa más antiguos del mundo, originarios del antiguo Oriente Próximo. En este taller interactivo, vas a aprender sobre el origen de juegos como senet, mancala, el Juego Real de Ur y al-qirkat. ¡Juega, gana y descubre cómo la estrategia y la suerte han unido a las personas durante miles de años! Si te gusta la historia, los acertijos o la competencia amistosa, este taller es para ti. Ven con ganas de jugar, aprender y divertirte con juegos antiguos que siguen inspirándonos hoy en día.
Los Talleres de Sábados de Jóvenes se ofrecen de manera bilingüe en español e inglés, y están diseñados para crear comunidad y enriquecer la experiencia en el museo para adolescentes multiculturales e hispanohablantes.
El costo de $10 incluye la entrada gratuita a todos los museos de Harvard Museums of Science & Culture (HMSC) inmediatamente después del taller.
Los adolescentes recibirán una membresía de HMSC (valorada en $100) después de asistir a tres o más talleres de Sábados de Jóvenes por semestre. O bien, recibirán un pase de entrada gratuita (valorado en $15) para una siguiente visita si asisten a una de las cuatro sesiones.
