Public Relations and Marketing Assistant – Summer Position

The Harvard Museums of Science & Culture Marketing Department seeks an organized, creative, detail-oriented person with writing and some design ability to post event and exhibition media listings (both online and print); to create digital event posters using Photoshop templates; to research new media outlets and build mailing lists; to help with marketing analytics; and to perform related duties, including occasional photography/video/social media projects. The public relations assistant will be involved in exhibit and event promotions in a small, busy office, and will report to the museum's Director of Public Affairs, working closely with other communications and design staff on particular projects. 

Requirements:

Writing ability and good grammar required. Photography skills and knowledge of Photoshop preferred; InDesign, Powerpoint, or Filemaker helpful. Candidates with an interest in archaeology or natural history and/or prior experience in a museum or public relations office would be an asset.  Flexible schedule, approximately 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday between 9 am-5 pm. Undergraduate pay rate: $13/hour.
